Storyteller
As a master storyteller I share human stories which engage audiences and challenge the way they interact, work and lead their lives. My stories are essentially about human beings in extremis, and their behaviour when ‘The chips are down’. Like tea bags, human beings only reveal their true strength in hot water. Epics of human struggle and triumphs of the human spirit create fantastic canvasses by which modern situations may be measured. Specialising in South African history, early Antarctic and Arctic exploration, the lessons which emerge from these great stories well-told are utterly appropriate today.
Rob will be delivering the opening keynote address on 15 October 2024, THE MELTING POT: AN AFRICAN ODYSSEY.
Paul Soko

Dr Paul Soko is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Life Healthcare (in the southern Africa division) overseeing Life Health solutions, Complementary services and Life Nkanyisa. He is a Board member of the Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA) where he chairs the Clinical Sub-committee. He also serves on the Board of Health Quality Assessment (HQA). He is a qualified Paediatrician from the University of Cape Town. He graduated with his basic medical degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 1995. He also holds an MPhil in Economic Policy from the University of Stellenbosch. He was appointed General Manager of Clinical Services by Mediclinic Proprietary Limited in 2008. He joined Discovery Health in 2013 as Divisional Manager in Strategic Risk Management. He was appointed to Life Healthcare executive in July 2016.
