The Western Cape Property Development Forum (WCPDF) is pleased to announce that our 10th annual conference will once again take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 08 & 09 June 2023.
A major event on the South African property development and construction industry calendar, the annual WCPDF conference brings together thought leaders from the public and private sectors involved in fixed capital investment, and who aim to work together to tackle the challenges and celebrate the achievements of our sector.
Delegates range from across the built environment, representative of the many facets that make up the industry, from large-scale developers to micro-developers and the many professional consultants, contractors and other service providers who work within the sector.
Initiated in 2014, this annual conference has grown substantially in attendance from less than 100 delegates in 2014 to a full house of 350 at our last event in 2022. With planning in place to accommodate well over 350 delegates again this year, including 12 exhibitors, this year’s event will take place under the theme:

While the rest of South Africa remains suspended in a political and economic holding pattern, the Western Cape is moving forward, with the huge contribution made by the property development and construction industry being increasingly acknowledged: we create the spaces in which people do things.
Regional and local governments are inviting industry to the table to partner around infrastructure, affordable housing and innovative sustainability; private equity financiers are stepping forward into the vacuum being created by banks; developers are acknowledging the critical importance of effective community engagements; and tertiary institutions have become key players in the property market. This year’s WCPDF conference celebrates these opportunities: can you afford not to be there?
PROGRAMME
VENUE
The conference will be taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Africa’s leading convention centre located in the heart of Cape Town’s business and entertainment centre. It is located at the entrance to Cape Town’s buzzing CBD, within walking distance to the V&A Waterfront and a selection of world class hotels, and is mere minutes away from Table Mountain, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The purpose built event complex consists of CTICC 1 and CTICC 2, which are connected by the Skybridge and boast a total floor space of 140 855m².
The WCPDF conference and exhibition will be taking in Auditorium 2 (conference room), Strelitzia Conservatory (registration and networking area) and Strelitzia Restaurant (catering, exhibition and networking area), all located within CTICC 1 with basement parking available in P3 or P1.

Registrations:
- Early bird: For registrations made up to 30 April 2023. Extended to 12 May 2023. Now closed.
- Normal: For registrations made between 13 and 31 May 2023. Now closed.
- Late: For registrations made from 1 June 2023.
Terms & Conditions:
- Registration fees include: full access to the conference and exhibition; morning, mid-morning and mid-afternoon refreshments; lunch daily; parking daily; day one networking event.
- Registration fees exclude accommodation and transport, where applicable.
- *Student rates apply to people under the age of 25 registered as full time students at tertiary education establishments. Proof of full time student registration is required.
- Registration must take place online with payments made via credit card or EFT. Registration queries may be submitted to registrations@sbs.co.za.
- Cancellations submitted eight or more working days from the start of the conference will qualify for a full refund.
- Cancellations submitted in writing within seven working days of the start of the conference will not qualify for a refund, but name substitutions will be accepted.
- WCPDF, CTICC and SBS Conferences & Exhibitions shall not be held liable for personal accidents, losses or damage to the private property of registered delegates. Delegates should make their own arrangements in respect of personal insurance.

EXHIBITION
The two-day WCPDF exhibition will take place on 8 and 9 June 2023 in the Strelitzia Restaurant, directly alongside the Strelitzia Restaurant, which is directly outside Auditorium 2 where the conference takes place. All refreshment and meal breaks, as well as the networking event, will take place in this area.

CPD accreditation has been granted by the following associations.
The South African Institute of Draughting has assessed and validated this Category One CPD Activity. The activity carries 2.0 CPD credits for the two-day conference, or 1.0 CPD credit if attending just one day.
The Association of South African Quantity Surveyors has assessed and validated this Category One CPD Activity. The activity carries 11 CPD hours for the two-day conference; or 6 CPD hours if attending on 8 June only and 5 CPD hours if attending on 9 June only.
The South African Council for Planners has assessed and validated this Focus Area 6, Sub-area 6.5 CPD Activity. The activity carries 13.5 CPD points for the two-day conference; or 7 CPD points if attending on 8 June only and 6.5 CPD points if attending on 9 June only.
The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions has assessed and validated this Category A: Core and Non Core Knowledge CPD Activity. The activity carries 12 CPD hours for the two-day conference; or 6 CPD hours if attending just one day.
